How NICE this Hilton Head sunset was in late Spring
The word nice is such a pleasant word isn’t it. We use it all the time. “Have a nice day.” “Nice to meet you.” “She is such a nice person.” I often spend time editing when I need time out from working on new scenes. I was startled when my computer pointed out how many times I was using the word NICE in my manuscript that has reached 55,000 words this summer. Thank goodness for my thesaurus that suggested words like appealing, pleasing, attractive, agreeable, pleasant, satisfactory, desirable, enjoyable.
While I’m at it I will admit to over using the word actually, which has now been edited, and I found I started more than one sentence with the word But. Things like this amuse me, laughing at myself, therapeutic.
Before I get back to my thesaurus, I want to tell you how NICE you are to read my blog, and if you are a writer, to share some laughter about how NICE it is we share this blogging world.
Love it! You are growing!!! Loving you in all your ways, meg

That is so nice. BUT, sometimes I think it just sounds right to start a sentence with ‘but.’
Don’t you just love words? They can be precise or broad.
Ha ha. I have a habit of starting sentences with And. lol
And how nice is your post! And the author as well!
I start a lot of sentences with conjunctions, and my go-to word is “great.”
I had a training video which was made of me, to show to students. In the main i was pretty pleased with it, i was doing a lot of things well, BUT I cringe at the number of times, when eliciting information from a client. or feeding back what they said, I start my sentences with SO…….
I cringe each time i watch it more and more, counting up the numbers of SO…………..SO……….SO
