If you have been reading this blog you know that we left a garden in Durham, NC in May 2013 and have started a new one in Nashville, NC. A blank canvas that in my mind I have divided into sections to make it seem manageable…One section at a time. This is the newest project you too can create.
Put down a edging, spray the area with Round Up, cover with plastic sheeting. Use a pea gravel or rock of your choice and spread.
I took a can of spray paint and changed the black edging here to a tan, the color of the rock.
Tilled up a collar of soil, added mushroom compost, thanks to neighbor and landscape man, Luke
I bought 9 ‘soft touch’ holly, slow growing, but will make a nice low hedge in a few years
Mulch and Enjoy…of course, NOW I think I need a cobble stone to edge the mulch.
Painted a beige table and chairs gray, the color of the Cottage for Two. I’m thinking of hanging a Public Bath Open sign after the last rain when we had drop-ins for a clean up.
Stepheny. A great start to a fine looking project. Am looking forward to seeing it close up and personal.
Thanks, John. Nothing funner than building a garden inch by inch.
Well done Stepheny. Love your little visitors too!
Aren’t they something…all fresh and clean having a wonderful time like a gang of kids playing in the sprinkler.
A good job salute to my favorite gardener! Stephenie, it looks lovely. Can’t wait to see what you do now.
Slow but sure in designing this new garden…oh, as finances allow too. Having fun. Someday you must come and see for yourself.
