Location: Piazza di Campo de Fiori, Rome.
Rome’s oldest market is held on Campo Dei Fiori (Flora’s Courtyard, not ‘flower market’).
Here you will find the best fish in the city, fresh vegetables and attractively-piled fruit, spice, as well as kitchen utensils, tablecloths and toys.
Time to gather your books together for summer reading. Don’t forget my novel, Facing East when ordering from Amazon. Part of the novel is set in Rome. Campo de’ Fiori Market is like our Farmer Markets in the USA, but “more better,” as my grandchildren used to say. Italy is part of the setting of the book, where great food and the markets play a part. Think of the photograph on this post as an illustration for the book. While at it, I am providing background music for your reading. ENJOY!
