Summertime and the Livin’ is Easy – June 7

Welcome if you are visiting because you are on the 2016 A to Z Post Challenge Road Trip This is a series during the month of June celebrating Summertime

“Summer was here again… Summers had a logic all their own and they always brought something out in me. Summer was supposed to be about freedom and youth and no school and possibilities and adventure and exploration. Summer was a book of hope.”
Benjamin Alire Sáenz Aristotle and Dante Discover the Secrets of the Universe

How long has it been since you gave a thought to the last day of school and clearing out your desk? There you would find things no longer of use destined for the wastebasket, or something found you thought long lost. I invite you to join me with a clearing out of something that will not be needed for the glorious summer ahead. It could be a drawer or a closet, but with imagination, what about something that no longer serves us; an attitude, a grievance? The point is to make room for possibilities, adventure and exploration in the glorious summer ahead.

  1. According to meteorologists, 1st June is the start of summer in the northern hemisphere. I guess that’s why I woke up to rain today!
Never mind; the rest of the week looks good, and both daughters are arriving at the weekend – the elder for her first visit with her new husband, the younger after an extended trip to Australia and South Africa. With three extra people and a total of five dogs, it should be quite an affair.

As I’m typing this, I’m looking at all the papers I have accumulated on my dining room table. Obviously, they don’t belong there. So, I’ll clear it off. Surely, I can find something to eliminate while I’m at it. 🙂

I have so many areas that need cleaning out! It will take me a week to figure out which one, but thanks for the reminder and push!

I am on the Road Trip 🙂 LOVE the graphic you’ve used for your summertime posts. And your posts hit a sweet spot with me–I’m a high school teacher with ONE MORE DAY of school left until my days are my own for a while. Reading, road-tripping, farmers market, grandbabies … ahhhhh.
